October 17, 2020. It’s been four years to the day since we left Tours, Julien’s hometown, and the starting point of our hitchhiking adventure around the world. As if to make a loop, we are now heading back to Tours, unexpectedly, to attend the funeral of Julien’s grandmother who had just passed away. An early return to our homecountry that forced us to leave the Philippines on a rush, by plane, but above all to put an end to this adventure… It’s the right time to write about our four years overview, to share our state of mind and our projects for the future!
All our travel overviews, year by year
Somewhere at sea between Hong Kong and the Philippines, we celebrated the beginning of a new year aboard a sailing boat… But we also celebrated a rather special anniversary, our third year spent on the roads. To mark this event, we plunged back into our notes and memories, our projects and dreams for the future with a gentle nostalgia. If we used to say “love lasts three years”, the love of travel lasts much longer!…
In 2018, we celebrated our two years anniversary on the road: two years on the road, to raise our thumbs up and write signs in all languages… And as you know, who says “anniversary” says “yearly overview”! It’s the perfect time, since we left our country and made our first assessment, so many things happened… So what better than to relive with you this second year in photos?
At the end of our first year spent on the road (we left France on October 17, 2016), it’s time to look back: What about our challenge France to Australia without plane? Where are we now? What are the lessons we learned from this trip?… Let’s summarize our first year of adventure in this overview!
